A Latino win for American safety pursuits

Mary Anastasia O’Grady writes a weekly column, “The Americas,” about politics, economics, and enterprise in Latin America and Canada that seems each Monday within the journal. Ms. O’Grady joined the newspaper in August 1995 and have become a senior editorial web page author in December 1999. She was named a member of the editorial board in November 2005. She additionally serves on the board of administrators of the Indianapolis-based Freedom Fund. .

In 2012, Ms. O’Grady gained the Walter Judd Freedom Award from the American Research Fund. In 2009, Ms. O’Grady obtained the Thomas Jefferson Award from the Affiliation for Personal Institutional Training. In 2005, Ms. O’Grady gained the Worldwide Coverage Community’s Bastiat Journalism Prize for her articles on the World Financial institution, Brazil’s underground financial system, and the customarily poor financial recommendation the USA provides to Latin American international locations. In 1997, Ms. O’Grady gained the American Press Affiliation’s Day by day Gleaner Award for Editorial Remark.

Ms. O’Grady holds a bachelor’s diploma in English from Assumption School and an MBA in monetary administration from Tempo College.
